Africa romantacised -S.Dlanga
Your children are hungry
Their tummies bloated
Wish it were of plenty food
Your women are the strongest
Yet the most broken
I yearn to liberate her women
They are the most oppressed
Yet Africa your pain is romantacised
Wish my arms were long enough
Strong enough to embrace you all
Wish my breasts were big enough
So that I could feed all your children
The men of Africa
Where are they
Torn
Torn in spirit
Wounded in soul
Wild and strong like lions
You are kings
Among men of the earth
You would be
But your spirit is torn
So torn you tear your own children
And wound your very own women
You roar at those you should love and protect
Wish you’d see the real enemy
Be the real kings you are among men
Let your soul and spirit be redeemed
And the men of the nations because of you
I weep for your pain
I lament your great losses
But I know your healing is here
Tomorrow
Now
May I be here to tell your women
You are queens among women
Then out of your ashes and pain
You will rise and
Mother the nations because
You are strong
Africa I dream for you
Your women are queens
Your men kings
Rise.
